ISG is currently conducting a number of projects under Geoscience Australia (GA), assisting with the development of the National Positioning Infrastructure Capability (NPIC) as part of the Positioning Australia program. The NPIC will improve GPS from its current accuracy of 5 metres to an accuracy as precise as 3 centimetres.
ISG’s work to date includes increasing the stability, accuracy and robustness of the Analysis Centre Software Network Parameter Estimation Algorithm. These improvements allow for GNSS products to be calculated with higher precision and reliability, which is critical to improving the accuracy of GPS for end-users.
